To the left of Hotel Elzenduin lies the international flower auction FloraHolland in Naaldwijk which can also be visited by outsiders. To the right looms the rugged coast where national seafaring hero Maarten Tromp lost his life in 1653 after a naval battle between the Dutch and the English fleet.
Located right in between The Hague and Rotterdam Ter Heijde has remained a cosy dune village with an unspoilt coastline. In summer it is one of the more peaceful beaches of the Netherlands. The beach lies at a two minute walking distance from Hotel Elzenduin.
